Moto Goldmines Limited, together with its subsidiaries, engages in the acquisition, exploration, and development of mineral properties. The company focuses on developing its key asset, a 70% interest in the Moto Gold project, which is one of the undeveloped gold deposits in Africa.
The project is a joint venture between L’Office des Mines d’or de Kilo-Moto and Moto Goldmines. The Moto Gold Project covers an area of approximately 1,841 square kilometers in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with total resources of approximately 21.5 million ounces.
Moto Goldmines Limited was formerly known as Equs Ltd. and it changed its name in April 2004. The company is based in Perth, Australia. As of October 15, 2009, Moto Goldmines Limited operates as a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. and Randgold Resources Ltd.
